Finding WIFI access when on the road (or even better beforehand)

by Steve Broback on August 5, 2005

When I’m getting ready for a trip, I consult with jwire to see where the hotspots are before I depart. Often it pulls through on finding great access in even the most remote locations. For example, I’m headed for Siren Wisonsin (population 992) tomorrow with the family. While I’m there I will very much need to have connectvity, and even AOL doesn’t have an access number within 100 miles of the place. Luckily I logged into jwire and discovered that there’s a hotspot at a coffee shop right in town.

it’s great for checking out access options at airports too…
