Airline Security takes a bashing from NYT’s JetLagged
For those of you who aren’t aware, The New York Times keeps a travel blog called JetLagged, which today has a piece that rips into the TSA:
If you are someone who suspects that what is billed as “aviation security” is often more show than substance, you are not alone. In fact, you are part of what Nixon aides used to call the “silent majority.” The security bureaucracy seems to think that as long as it is seen as doing something, and so long as another terror attack does not occur, the public will at least feel secure enough not to insist that it do whatever needs to be done actually to make us secure.
I won’t spoil the post for you, but the gist of it is that the TSA is all hat and no cattle. Myself, I’ve often complained about the way that buying expensive airline club memberships can speed you through security.
What sense does that make? If security is something that we all have to go through, why do rich people fly faster?
But I suppose that’s just me being jealous.

You’re not jealous.
It’s true. Rich folks do fly faster. Especially in New York.
I think it is a disgrace that rich people can go thru security express lane. Just proof that if you have money you can do what you want, justice is not blind any more. For more proof just look at the Hill and the white house these people are bought and paid for by big corporation and they vote the way they are told to. We need more for the people by the people all the people not just the rich or the few.
In my opinion, rich people will always have it easy and the poor will always come in second according to this issue. And
as it was in the beginning, so shall it be to the days to come. Either except your life or change it! Their is a reason
why people are in the position that their in now, which is what our creator directs and concludes.
You don’t have to be rich. Just willing to pay more. I think those that are willing to pay more deserve to not wait as long as those they subsidize. The reason you get to fly for less is because they pay more. Let them wait less. They deserve it. You will, too, if you pay more.
true at many airports there are priority security lines for frequent flyers. Please don’t confuse those of us who travel for a living (and rack up the miles to qualify) as being rich.
